Read the editorial here.

Ross, Trey Pharis and Markos Mendoza co-authored an editorial that gives the lowdown on the V.P. of Student Affairs Elwyn Lee and Faculty Senate pres. Joe Kotarba subverting the democratic process on the fair trade bill and how our fees are paying for a corporation’s coffee shop. The main points, our tuition money pays so that Aramark gets 95% of the profit and there is no democracy or student input on the campus thanks to folks like Lee and Kotarba.

“Student Performance: A Library Starbucks Cart will make the Library more appealing to many students, this may result in more students studying in the Library, thus increasing the University G.P.A. Higher Grade Point Averages will help enhance the University’s image and increase the caliber of new students.”

General Assumptions Regarding the University of Houston Library

The big question is: Does the administration still hold to this reasoning? I think this document has gone relatively unnoticed on this website. Maybe you should check it out.
