On July 29th we filed a federal civil rights lawsuit alleging free speech violations by the University against one of our members. Check out the video and learn about how U.S. congressperson Sheila Jackson-Lee uses her husband, V.P. of Student Affairs Elwyn Lee to oppress our member Tim O’Brien.

Houston Chronicle reporter Jenalia Moreno wrote a great story on fair trade businesses in Houston. She quoted Students for Fair Trade member Esteban Tovar and founder Timothy O’Brien. The story was published on October 27, 2007. Check it out.
Timothy O’Brien sent a letter to the editor of the Houston Chronicle, correcting a few errors he found in the article. The Houston Chronicle also published Tim O’Brien’s letter to the editor in reply to their article which be found here.
